pros: increased performance (better wet and snow traction) increased resale value on trade-in cons: additional upfront cost must wait for delivery As long as you have a perceived value from the additional brake and performance upgrades along with increases resale value to offset the additional cost and waiting time over the you own the vehicle then its worth it, if not then don't worry about it. I'm not the best judge of buying cars since I tend to build cars slightly aggressively. For me the performance package is a must, but then I tend to buy them used and then run them until their frames are totally worn out.
Yeah, I am gonna keep it for a good long time (10 years), unless something crazy happens. I'm at 8 years on my Fit, don't NEED to sell it. In excellent shape, only at 90k. Arg!
Personally, I'd go PP, only because traction is something I love to have at all times. Plus the increased braking power doesn't help. Limited slip dif. will make it much easier to corner.
Posi (limited slip) and bigger brakes are a no brainer for me. Those would be must haves. 10 ponies ain't a bad thing either. I'd get the package. I know if I was buying used that a car with the goodies would be more appealing than one without.
Testing a Fit EX on the way home from work, cause it was on my list and I should be thorough, and I love my current Fit
Check out the Ford Focus ST as well. Similar type of vehicle to the GTI, big ol' turbo, some kind of torque-steer limiting voodoo. And my Ford stock could use a little more revenue!
It only has a manual. It isn't a good all around car like the GTI. Interior is cheap Ride quality sucks in comparison, from what I have read. GTI look a million times better All that said, I would check one out if they came out with a DSG before I get the GTI
They put in 104 octane, put it on slicks, and got through the 1/4 mile in 12.6 seconds. All from a software, gas, and tire change
I've been driving stick for some time. Both VW's I've owned were 5 speeds, and a joy to drive. I still don't like Ford though.
