To me it is. And it's still backer build (so a beta). Just shy of 3 weeks till it is on EGS. I don't think they have plans for a multiplayer though.
If someone really wants it and doesn't want to wait till it's on steam, you can buy directly from them on their website. Also I have a $10 discount for the season pass I think you have to get it from. Maybe. Since I get it free. Was a mistake on their end. The season pass is $30 for 5 DLCs. Individually it would all come to about $40.
It's nowhere near as pretty as xcom 2 but it's not ugly. Which actually solves an issue (I had atleast) with xcom 2 occasionally lagging and hanging because of the graphics and so much going on.
Some screenshots. You can just shoot at the enemy as in the 2nd image or zoom in and move the reticle (like an FPS) like the 3rd and 4th images and target specific body parts, damage/disable limbs, weapons cause bleeding (if a limb is disabled it will lower something, like a leg is disabled movement is lowered ).
First image is the Geoscape . 2nd is one of the soldiers which everyone can pick up a second class at level 4. And you can increase the stats. No auto calculation. Strength affects maximum health, how much weight they can carry and how far they can throw items (I'm guessing grenades arn't the only item to be thrown). Willpower affects how much many will points a soldier has, will is used for abilities. Reaching Zero will causes panic. Speed how many tiles one can move in a turn.
Equipment screen for the soldiers. They can carry ammo and I believe even share ammo (can access each others inventory. not sure on that. probably at least a way to drop ammo)
I'm not sure. Because they are only blurred in that screen. In mission they arn't. And I don't think it's a setting or my computer. It's not the screenshot. They are blurred when it's live (animated a bit). Maybe it won't be blurred in release.
Yes you can access others inventory. Also the "ground" there is a crate in mission (random supplies like ammo or medkits)
IT'S HAPPENING (okay game doesn't actually launch till December 3rd. Wednesday. but they are sending out keys). Also showing the stupid ads/sale promotion thing in the lower right (I maximezed the EGS page to full screen).
So many updates have been coming out I might as well wait till it's on steam to actually play. So yeah. With this game the epic exclusive is basically a long beta period.
I'd still wait till it comes out on steam (for anyone who doesn't have it) simply so all the year one dlc and changes/updates are out. I think since it came out it's had 5? majorish updates where you basically need to restart to see them (balancing and such). and that's aside from any dlc. This game and MW 5 pretty much convinced me "epic exclusive" = year long beta period. And allowing developers to release a 85-90% complete game.
Steam release date. Honestly I haven't played much even on epic because they do big balance changes/updates what seemes like every month or 2.
