    A game called Darq was just released on Steam. He was offered to be an Epic Store exclusive but he denied. Here is abit of the story


    3 days after he had announced the release date for Darq on Steam he was approaced by Epic to become an exclusive on their store. He declined, stating he wants the game to be available on as many stores as possible giving players the choise of where they want to buy it. He does say that declining it is a poor choice in the short term due to the guaranteed sales he would have gotten from Epic. On the other hand in the long term he gets to keep his credibility which would have been gone if he agreed to be a Epic Store exclusive just days after announcing a Steam release date.

    When Epic could not have it as an exclusive. They had no interest in it, so they don't sell it at all.

    I have heard that taking the exclusive deal is the only way to get your game on the epic store. Even before darq's developer.

    They do have a submission form somewhere.

    Email from epic to the developer of Darq (posted by the developer). So yeah it sounds like to even get on the epic store at the moment they have to go exclusive.

    Because they probably wait to see how many people wishlisted, how many preorders, guage interest instead of looking at games that look good. And go for games that already have a high interest not ones that might get high interest. Basically a "this already has sales and likely to have alot more" instead of a complete unknown.
