Its obvious mod support ads was top priority since epic actually cares about the customer.. the shareholders.
Technically if they have ads, they have plenty of customers. It's the people paying for ad space that'll be displeased by the lack of actual people using the service and thereby getting inundated by their ads. But Epic already has their money so... 'we never guaranteed your ads would get seen, just that they would be shown to anyone using the service'
Oh right. So to redeem a key (that was not bought in EGS). Well there is a redeem thing in the EGS launcher. But it's in N odd place. Instructions I got for Phoenix point backer build. DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS 1. Download the launcher from the Epic Games Store. 2. Sign up for or sign into your account. 3. In the launcher, click on your username in the bottom left. 4. Select "Redeem Code" 5. Copy and paste your key from below. Not normally a place you would look for a "redeem key". At least not if you are used to steam.
I maximized EGS to full screen. That is a fair amount of real estate the ads/sale promotions take up.
So apparently EGS does support preloading games that haven't released yet. Must be a recent thing though.
That definitely is new. I remember people complaining about that not being a feature just a ferw months ago.
