Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear has been fired today by the BBC and both James May and Richard Hammond have both stated they will not continue on with out him..... NNOOOOOO!!!!!!!
The best part is the BBC copyrighted the "idea of a show about cars, with skits and challenges, with three presenters" or some shit like that. So if they go somewhere else with the idea of the show the BBC will try to sue and stop it from ever airing.
sure, though they can skirt it pretty simply by hiring a fourth presenter, or broadening it to include land vehicles, or any number of minute adjustments that copyright can't protect against because otherwise nobody would be able to do anything ever.
what I cant understand is that if Top Gear America is the child of Top Gear UK or what ever. Why the hell does it suck so much ass. I couldn't even get through 10 minutes of top gear America. the thing is just complete trash compared to the UK version. Though even the UK version for BBC America sucks balls, all the editing and crap, its like its meant for some child with ADD because it jumps through so many different episodes of a season to make one US episode. it makes me want to ram my head through the wall because their is zero continuity throughout 99% of the episodes. but I guess that is what torrents is for.
I still dont understand what caused all this. I heard that he was being sacked, but I was not sure why.
He apparently "attacked" a producer or some such because he wasn't given a hot meal after filming for the day. By attacked, I'm assuming punched in the mouth along with verbal abuse.
What I've read is he punched the producer and verbally berated him, plus this is not the first time he's been reprimanded for "abusing" staff of the show.
have you seen the shit they go through? I know I would go nuts to if I told a producer to do something and didn't and then come time for what i wanted at the end of the day to find out the producer didn't do his job. Who wouldn't go nuts.
Long day at work, not much to eat and no promised warm food waiting, i would be angry too. Like you ordered a big steak and got bowl of carrot soup or similar veggie thing... Plus im 99% sure that the producer said something to JC that got him to punch him.
pretty sure no matter what line of work you're in, if you punch your boss and yell at him you're going to end up fired.
This. Self control is an actual thing. Being mad does not give the right to physically attack someone.
field producers are just there to run the field crew and make everyone happy. Basically. Join the U.S. marines, find out how well that mentality works over.
Fine then, in any normal job when you punch a co-worker and yell at him, you STILL FUCKING GET FIRED. Fuck this asshole, sounds like he was a douchebag for any number of reasons. The guy isn't a marine, he's a fucking TV star. I don't care how long he had to wait for his bagel or that it wasn't hot or had the wrong kind of cream cheese. His life isn't tough, he is on a TV show where he gets paid an extravagant sum of money drive fast cars.
Mostly because of the way the presenters interact. Though didn't start out as such James, Jeremy, and Richard all come off as 3 friends having a lark and getting paid for it. *not far from the truth* while the 'hosts' of the US version are just hosts. There is not indication that they get together after the show for a beer or enjoy what they are doing. Hell, one of them is actually an actor I had seen on another show at some point.
Yeah, when I saw the title I was hoping one of the first three posts was "Sheo?" or "Way to fucking go, Sheo." Off of the topic of the actual worst thing ever and back onto the thread topic, I'm torn. The show was good and I really will miss it. But I have no sympathies for someone getting fired for being a cunt.
You haven't seen where they were attacked in Argentina? Richard Hammond I think was the one that almost died in a car accident. Was out for a long time because of the crash. There are lots of other times in which they have serious injury, broken bones, bruising, etc. The crash / accident
