I recently started playing Tribes and i find it to be a great game. Its fast paced and the gameplay promotes teamwork. Been playing a bit(almost rank 9) and as I still have fun I can't say I hate it but the game is horribly balanced. Notably direct fire weapons do nowhere near as much damage as explosives carried in same weight class. I have to hit someone flying at 150km/h to do some and others can hit near them and do more. Also Raider with invis just dominate. Ok off rant mode still fun but frustrating at inbalance sometimes.
I actually think the game is pretty balanced. its just about learning it. Direct weapons are good when you are skiing. The one shot weapon deals more damage but you have to make sure you hit (going in 190km/h and hiting someone is hilarious but hard. thats why i love doing that with the pathfinder). The only gun i think is inbalanced is the plasma gun the raiders have. You have a explosive raidius and you got like 10 shots in a clip.
Well I have been playing sentinel(sniper) and one shot at a time that HAS to be scoped and a charge rate to determine damage does 300-500 when fully charged. A Light spinfuser though will kill me in one shot. In fact about the only things that don't insta kill me(I have 800 health soon 900 once I buy my armor upgrade) are other snipers and the assault rifle. It is a general complaint with the game that they have made heavies differently from the originals and that they are generally considered OP as they are not really that much slower. But being the way I am I won't give up on doing what I want and I still can still rack up the kills but its mostly assists and flag grab kills. Edit: Also this just happened to me, Infiltrator used a "Stealth Spinfuser" on me which one shotted me and didn't even begin to make him appear.
With my patfinder who also have 800hp i can take 1 spinfusor hit before i die (unless its a direct hit) and the second one kills me). I find that sentinels deal alot of damage to me once they hit. Also, doesnt teh first sniper rifle the sentinel have deal more damage the more zoomed in you ar
Nope the initial rifle does 500 on max charge and 10 damage hip fire (takes a few seconds once zoomed ) and the other rifle does 510 hip fire or zoomed (full charge but it charges between shots not zoomed and between shots) but has a longer charge time between shots and eats energy.
Steam Starter pack on sale for $10 (half off) until July 4th. Picked it up to have a F2P multiplayer game while we way that isn't TF2 (I get tired of TF2 quickly). We'll have to do some jetpacking here soon, whoever else has this (it's free, let's all get it!)
Oh, my ACCOUNT is DihmWhit, character is Dihm. Where the hell do I find the "friends" list... So far, the Doombringer is my favorite class. Though, I've gotten pretty good with the Pathfinder and keeping up speed. My best was a nearly 1 km ski, and my high speed is around 200.
