Wait, what universe are you living in where people didn't complain about Transformers? If you mean a recent one, I'm pretty sure we're all ignoring them and hoping they'll go away. If you think I'm saying the Warcraft CGI looks bad, I'm not. It's very good CGI. What I was saying is that it's still CGI beside live action and it's still not at a level where it blends perfectly. I don't see why they went with a live action/CGI blend when they could have done a full performance capture, made the entire thing CGI, and had everyone talking about how mindbogglingly amazing it was. Again, I'm sure the movie will be good, I just wish they had taken a different direction visually. Doesn't really matter though.
I'm also not saying that this wouldn't be a real issue. But blessed are the ignorant ones. Blessed am I. I can more fully enjoy it because I can't see the flaws. You know how it is for me to play games these days? There's literally almost not a single clipping or any other flaw or optimization trick that escapes my eye. Then try to enjoy a nice story in a really well made game - everyone else in the room is blind to the countless flaws, all I see is a screen filled with red ink "clipping mistake" "missing texture" "mismatching UV" "lighting bug" "reflection bug" "animation bug" "clipping error" "more clipping" "substandard normal map on that armor" etc.. Do I wish that I didn't see those things when I'm trying to just play a game? Sure. I'm so glad I don't see that stuff when I watch movies. It must be pretty annoying. Or eating food if you really know cooking? "This sauce wasn't made from products that are currently in season.."
Constant iteration of "yep, yep, oh yep" is a known aphrodisiac and attracts potential human mating partners. It is so powerful that it was considered OP and it has been driven to the status of an underground legend.
More of the comments section on YouTube but that's typical these days. I think it's because it is to true to how the armor is supposed to look in Warcraft and not more of what humans would have actually worn will still looking close to what it is supposed to represent. The orcs look much more real then the hulk in this last avengers movie but. People are just to used to the lord of the rings / hobbit crap that they set there expectations from what Warcraft is.
It's almost like art is a subjective experience. WHAT THE FUCK I think this art sucks. You're free to think it not sucks. In my subjective opinion you are wrong. But who cares what I think?
Also I'm not seeing this rant and complaint about Warhammer Total War, even if it's a game. I'm talking about armors and such. As far as realism etc. go, I keep saying that I too do know that you can't exactly slash through the breastplate or cuirass with a broadsword or even a claymore for that matter but the matter is more about scales. There's limited amount of time for everything, battles and story and so. I also realize that I've done my fair share of ranting around here but now I wish I hadn't. Coming in after watching a totally kickass thing and seeing first two pages filled with "THIS IS TOTAL SHIT" is not nice. And I've been plenty of guilty of that too, my rants wouldn't even fit on two pages. Knowing now better I think I'll just keep it down a notch when I don't like something. Or work towards that goal. Or something.
But which is truly worse? To know that people are judging your opinion, or that your opinion is so unimportant to them that they don't even consider it?
So.... Because you like it we all have to also? No one was yelling "THIS IS TOTAL SHIT". That's hyperbole. People are allowed to think that the art direction sucks. They are allowed to think that the combination of live action with CGI sucks. They are allowed to comment on their opinion. What does Total Warhammer have to do with anything about the World of Warcraft movie? I like their art style better, if that's what your comparing. I can't stand WC3/WoW cartoon style.
Why? I've never had any issues reading your rants, even if we disagree on a topic. As long as you don't start throwing personal attacks in with your opinion there's no reason to censor yourself.
Why would you have to feel bad about not liking something you don't like or find aesthetically displeasing? Some people like to eat shit, but I don't feel the need to run around whiteknighting the virtues of shiteating because if I truthfully voiced my dislike of shit sandwiches a shiteater might come along later and get offended that I didn't share their predilection for shit consumption.
