I should come back also, either DD or CV it up ;) I'm just unhappy with the fact we can't be in more than 1 cv at a time

needs to be a massive fleet battle like midway or coral sea where you could have multiple carriers. a special map mode.

Aww, nuts. You guys might end up dragging me back into the game now!
Hell, I stopped playing before the new nations were introduced!

I currently specialize in IJN DDs and BBs.
But looking at long term plans/grinding, I'm looking to make CAs my jam.

played my DD got a nice 5km kill vs a battleship that I didn't think even knew I was there by the fact that his guns were pointing the other way, and he didnt even turn to avoid my spread of 6 torps (3 from each launcher). Then sailed up on a CV who tried ramming me, but instead torped HIMSELF trying to kill me, I almost died laughing. Next game played CV was doing well till a DD snuck up on me, I got a few bombs off on him, but my planes were to buzy clearing the skys to help.

did a match in my nicholas (tier v american DD) and got 2 citadel hits on a phoenix in 2 salvos (8 shots total with AP) and killed it. so then i looked at the armor on all the cruisers. most of the american and russian DDs have 127-130 mm guns. till tier 9 american cruisers armor is 127 mm or below. so in an american or russian DD you can use AP on all but the tier 9-10 american cruisers. the german cruisers barely break 100 mm and only in the final tiers. the japanese cruisers are below the 130mm till tier 8. the japanese destroyers don't get 127 mm guns till tier 7 but since they use torps the most it's not as important. and of course armor can range in thickness on a ship. i think the cleveland it is 30 -127 mm. and of course the DDs guns are insanely accurate.

didn't feel like making a new thread but I've been playing some steel ocean. It's like world of warships but matches are faster (also i think a smaller player base) has the bullet spread circle. I also think gun ranges are far lower (maybe smaller maps) and acceleration is insane for all ship classes. it is still fun. free to play on steam (and you can get a free repulse). But the carriers play a little differently. But the biggest differences I think are you control all the guns main, secondaries and AA (well AA that is not MGs) only the machineguns are AI controlled AA. I think controlled AA guns are 40mm and up. Also there are depth charges in game and SUBS. full US and japanese fleets with partial british fleet (DDs and CVs) and halfway done german line (BBs, cruisers, and subs. actually distinguishes between light and heavy cruiser (though both are in the same line usually)

japanese tier 10 BB is not the yamato. it is the "super yamato". paper design. and tier 9 sub is the I-400. the one that carried aircraft.

to me it's more of a surface level control of your ship version of navyfield for those of you that played navyfield. from some of the stats on the torpedoes it looks like they might eventually add in stuff like spread and speed (slow or fast). also you can do solo or salvo fire on just about everything. so on torps if you do salvo it is all your torpedo launchers that can face that way or solo and you have 9 tubes you can launch 9 individual torpedoes. also matches are up to 16 vs 16

hasn't been in development as long as warships and i don't think as large a team as wargaming. It is more arcady than warships. but subs. i mean if they can do subs why can't wargaming? it's not hard. i would say warships is still the better game. but goddamn wargaming devs. stop being lazy and add subs already. i'd play the shit out of subs.

Update 0.5.3 is our first major update of 2016. It brings Team Battles, new Commander Skills, and deadly new Japanese destroyer consumables!

    World of Warships
is a team game, of course, and this new mode lets you assemble your own pre-configured team before joining a ranked queue of 7v7 match-ups. You'll have access to this mode starting at account level 12. Start talking to your dream team now!

Team Battles will only be available during a so-called "prime time;" a necessary restriction to ensure a competitive number of players are all in the queue. The precise time has yet to be determined for the North American server, but we'll have information on that at a later date.

You can create or join up to three teams. The first team you create is free, but creating others will cost Doubloons.

With the addition of new skills and changes to old skills, we're resetting all Commander points. Be sure to use your free respec before heading into battle!

Just in case anyone who is interested hasn't heard.

In December, you can earn all of the Arpeggio of Blue Steel ships. I now have Takao, Haguro, Hiei, and Kongo.
