I am getting home Friday from training, my plans for the weekend involve finishing a custom mod to one of my t16000's for a floor mounted cyclic and collective along with building a sim seat. Once that's done I plan on doing a marathon flying session in arma. Actually I will probably get home and start playing arma through Sunday night when I will realize that I only was away from it to sleep for a few hours the entire weekend.
Good work tonight. Not a perfect run, but can always improve. Sorry about the SNAFU with the Ifrit. AI can be tricky at times. Let's look at group maneuver and lane coverage on the training server.
I think even with a mission fail it was a good night. Having 6 people working together was awesome. And the 400m rpg to open things up! Having to fight our way out and run like hell was enjoyable and the transport was much quicker on the way back (down hill ) we got up to 80kph.
It's good to learn what went wrong and work to correct, that's for sure. For instance, Sheo and I should never have gone for the tower, it was way too exposed. That was my call and I know better now. I thought we had a pretty good plan going in and with some refinement it would have gone off well. The RPG distraction was a great call. I think we maybe could have waited before sending the fire team in and seen if AAF and CSAT would have engaged each other and thinned the herd a bit.
I stopped watching just as shit went south, 'cause I figured you guys might not make it out alive, after five of your were down at the same time. However... it might have been beneficial to have sent in the Fire team as you did, but had them hold up in a good covered position, then see what happened. With Skwi and Sheo outside the compound, they had better eyes on what people were doing that the fire team inside, and thus the confusion could've been escalated.
I think we'll give Op: Party Crashers another try. This time, I'll sit out and manage things from Zeus/MCC so expect enemy behavior that's a little more logical. Or booby-trapped buildings. I haven't decided yet. Tuesday good for everyone?
I'm game for tues as well. After we finished up last night I went back with the blackhawk to recover the unarmed ifrit we stole only to find its too heavy for the uh-60. I was quite saddened. Still stealing their chopper was a nice bonus for the night.
Save up pennies and buy a Merlin. I'll make sure we're adding $$ for the missions we accomplish and will have bonus cash as lootables.
Hopefully people see this tonight. 9pm EST tonight, Sunday June 29 - Operation CQB YOU AND ME Location - Meat & Mead server, Stratis, Agia Marina - meet in NATO Base Assembly Area Opposition - AAF, estimate 20-30 light infantry occupying city Mission brief - Our force represents a local police unit that has volunteered their services to help fight CSAT and AAF forces. Our first task to prove ourselves is to clear AAF forces from the large town on Stratis without incurring civilian losses. NATO is not providing any equipment so we must use standard issue police gear - handguns, shotguns and SMGs looted from the SWAT unit armory before being driven from the city. Armory restrictions - Any handguns, SMGs or shotguns. Smoke grenades but no frags. No explosive charges. No thermal optics or binocs. NVGs and related attachments welcome (IR pointers, flashlights). Chemlights and/or flares could come in handy. Full medical supplies encouraged. Support assets - 1 unarmed truck for transport. We will be outnumbered and outgunned but I really wanted an excuse to try out CQB weapons. Hopefully this sounds fun!
