I found that horror during my training overland trek. Just looking through my range finder in thermal, watching a enemy patrol move up the hill. Pan over to the left. "Oh my, that's a lot of soldiers" *zoom in* "Fuck those are goats" "Uh.. guys, there's a bunch of goats on this hill over here."
most of us survived. We did fine. We just need to have some support to call in next time. We're going to have to deal with the bigger formations at some point, right?
I thought it was pretty fun, to be totally honest. We set off the hornets nest and mostly made out it. I even managed to knock out the IFV that got Trevnor.
Yeah, I plan on it. I think it might have something to do with selecting an explosive specialist when joining a squad... but I'll double check before launching into next time.
I have bad news, I assumed intel from the map was current last night. And took a little bird towards the radio tower objective to get closer before humping it into Syrtia below. That went fine, when I made it back to retrieve the little bird and fly back to base, I was snipped out of the cockpit by a Lynx team in what the map said was a cleared sector. I hunted them down and killed them, but haven't been able to procure anything to replace the little bird as of this writing.
Alright, this is a strange tale. I started in the NE airport, it was red and I wanted to remove any trouble. After wandering around for 15 min nothing was around but a friendly Hunter with a driver doing nothing. So I jumped in thinking he might go some place with a passenger. Nope. Mouse wheel to get out, and whats this? Driver seat? Score. He moves over and I name him Bob. I look at my map and notice the brightest area is right on the center airfield. So I decide I will go there with Bob and do something awesome. Long boring drive later, I run over the perimeter fence, and roadkill 12 of 18 patrolling troops on my way down the tarmack. Whats this parked in the middle of the airfield? Tanks? Score! I Jump out leaving Bob too him self, an drive off towards the NW airfield to store the tank when Skwis pops on the net. And we begin to plan a raid to grab the second tank and return for Bob. Too be continued.
So I jump on to start the hunt for replacement choppers. Fless radios me and tells me what he's been doing to I grab an ATV and we head off back to the airfield. On the way we found a fuel truck and "liberated" it. Continuing south Fless somehow managed to run into a fence and blow the fuel truck to pieces. I continued to the airfield and was rejoined by Flessar along with Boombuni and Steelbear. We cleared quite a few enemies from the field and grabbed the second Leopard and the MRAP and boogied back to base, destroying 3 Neophrons along the way so as to deny them to the enemy. So overall, -1 Littlebord, +2 Leopard MBT, +1 unarmed Hunter.
Oh and MH and I captured another UH60 to replace the Little Bird. Later tonight, probably around 10EST or so, I propose a deep strike to the AAF Airfield to try and capture a Mohawk heavy lifter.
We may have been a bit ambitious today, by the end of the night we had more than doubled the number of vehicles we have. 2x UH-60 2x MH-6 2x Armed Hellcat 2x Unarmed Hellcat 2x CH-49 Mohawk 1x Mi-48 Kajman 1x Albatross CAS (a 143 Buzzard) 2x Leopard 2A6 1x Namer 1x Arma (marid) 1x Pandur II 1x M-ATV (HMG) 1x M-ATV (unarmed) 1x Punisher (unarmed) 4x HEMTT (repair, rearm, fuel, medical) 1x Zamak (transport) 2x Fuel Truck (civilian) 1x Sport Hatchback I might have missed one or two, it was a long day of raiding parties. Highlights include a large assault on the AAFC airfield to steal their entire air force. Result was that we stole every single thing they had save for the loss of one Hellcat when Trev was shot down by a missile, Fless and myself unable to get the Albatross' we were flying to land safely, and a 4th albatross we blew up when no one could get in it. There should be more writeups coming, Bear was unanimously nominated to give them.
