2nd Edition is so much better, Can't stand 3rd and 4 th editions. Damien what's your preferred SFB race?
I prefer pathfinder (aka 3.75 edition), though I've only ever played 3.5 and 3.75 4th edition? all of my hate.
Me and some of my friends have a 2nd Ed game that we have been running since about '85-ish. We don't get to play much cause everyone has moved to different states but about once a year we have a weekend marathon session. Sigh, it's good to see some of the youger folk admiring the classics
And that's why I like it. I love conceptualizing characters and maximizing their potential more than actually rping them more often than not. Of course I've been under a lot of bad DMs sooo there may be a reason for that.

Actually i never liked D&D way too heroic for my tastes, i always preffered hardcore settings in which you were as likely to got yourself slain as to die from sickness.
If you think D&D is too heroic, you would hate Scion. We should probably start a new thread to discuss pros and cons of rp systems we like. Pretty sure we've derailed the intro thread.
