If we can get a sticky set up with links to sources, d20 rules, point calcs, character sheets, etc etc etc, that would be nice. I also don't really know shit about Shadow Run. Only played it ONCE.
Yea, let us know what time you mean by evening Kaz, because when we say evening, we mean usually mean sometime after 11 pm est
Okay, here are some links for Shadowrun: http://www.shadowrun4.com/ - Catalyst Game Labs homepage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun - Wikipedia page (mostly just the publishing history) http://www.dumpshock.com/ - This forum has been around for a long time... http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page - *This* is the place you wanna look at. Lots and lots and lots of in-game info here. http://www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=hero_lab So are we talking about using Hero Lab for our SR campaign?
I was browsing my new 4E SR rulebook and stayed up an hour later than intended looking at skills and shit. Now I am tired from waking up at 4:30 without my normal 6 hours of sleep.
I'm good to play SR, though i'd like to keep it to one night per week, if possible. I still want to have some time for my fiancee.
Silly Kazaashi, everyone knows it's the same time everywhere else! what is this CST of which you speak? Witchcraft I say!
I prefer 3.5 myself. Sure, you can abuse it with min-maxing, but if your DM is worth anything, he'll make you regret trying to min-max, trust me. I do hate 4th with a burning passion though.
This. I had DM once who would penalize the character of anyone who tried to meta game in the form of hilariously convenient bad luck, and if they persisted, he'd kill their character, usually a very painful and shameful death. That is the sign of a good DM.
Exactly! In the campain I'm currently in, one of our party members like to just build characters, and he doesn't mind min-maxing. So, on day in chat(We have a Skype chat at work to talk about D&D) he was talking about a min-max Warforged Character, and our DM, being the awesome one that he is, simply said "And suddenly Rust Monsters everywhere." It promptly shut him up! lol
I have another question. How come D&D is in Off Topic, instead of Other Games? Just curious, because this is technically another game....
So I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm going to put on my salesman hat for a second. Hold on. Adjusting. Jaunty angle achieved. All systems nominal. Ok I've just got to say, so far as character based campaigning and awesomeness goes, the fate system cannot be beat. I personally prefer the Dresden files rpg, though that may be because of my love of the series. As far as I am concerned, any system built to get you around the awkward we meet in a tavern stage is amazing.
