Nightmare is the real game it seems. You actually have to pay attention, plan ahead, and hope like hell you don't run into a damage reflecting vampiric group of Blues. I didn't die at all in Normal. I've died, oh, 10 or so times so far clearing Act I on Nightmare? Oh, and if you see something drop this little purple line that spins around in a circle? Run the fuck away.
Want to have some fun? Get a group together and start from scratch with hardcore characters. Then see how far you can go before you die. I made it 2h 11m in before dying in a group last night. Everything was fine until they restarted the servers then things got really hard.
I'm having a blast on Hardcore, if anyone wants to join me. My wizard just got the Skeleton king's crown, almost died a couple times and it's a hell of a rush. Gear seems to be better too. Oh, and for those that don't know, you can't share anything between Hardcore and Non characters.
My brother just finished up hardcore with his monk on normal last night. I told him to look forward to nightmare
Lost my Wizard to a Yellow and a swarm of spear throwing goatmen at level 14. I was unhappy. Back to level 10 with a Monk, we'll see how this one goes.
I checked back in after the vacation this weekend and played too long, got my DH up to 35 and killed the Skeleton King in Nightmare. Loving how flexible the gem system is (you can remove a gem and get both the gem and the item without a scratch on 'em). I'm a little on the squishy side but can phase in and out and deal some serious damage, so I'm loving the class. Woo! Just a little sleep deprived today at work.
Well, beat the game on normal with wiz. Debating whether to do nightmare, or restart a monk on normal or hardcore... choices choices
This all changed once I reached about lvl 18 (currently lvl 22 or 23). I now have a real force of henchmen to do my bidding and am able to churn out DPS without much effort. This is much more acceptable than the first 18 levels of the game where I had to be mindful of what was going on with the amount of nasties I was beating on. WD comes good in the long run.
Just about finished up with nightmare mode on my demon hunter. I have over 4000 DPS and 18000 health at the moment.
ahh ok. I think my wizard is around there too. I'll be on saturday and sunday morning for a bit if you guys want to play again!
Finally found something to fix my latency issues, posted it in this thread for anyone interested http://www.uobgaming.com/showthread.php?1255-Improving-Latency-in-online-games&p=22452#post22452
