My moms side ran from Ukraine when the germans were starting their shit. I think running from the germans. Probably not the Soviets since my mom was born in the states in 47. But her mom (my grandmother) did live in Ukraine. I know near the polish border. And that is my knowledge of it. The Ukrainians are pretty much everyone's punching bag.
Finnish people don't like Russia much... both sets of my grandparents used to live near the eastern Finnish border and had to move at the outbreak of the war, where their homesteads used to be are basically right on the border. They all moved inland, took over a plot with just forest, plowed it all down for farms. I know my great grandfather was a war prisoner for the Finnish communists during the civil war shortly after gaining independence, but I don't think anyone specifically fought in the Finnish / Russia war, I think everyone was either too old or too young. My grandfather did come across a downed plane in the forest with his friends and managed to carry a machine gun back to their house before the authorities came and confiscated it.
Dragon Age 4 was announced earlier this month and is likely some years away from release. However it's already starting with bad PR leaving the fans worried
EA has lost about 21 billion in stock value from what I know. In July the value was around 145 dollars a share with it now being around 77 dollars a share. The thing about investors is.. They like money. So when investors see you telling consumers to fuck off and don't buy the product you are selling... well they tend to get pissed straight the hell off. This along with the lootcrate gravy train coming to almost a full stop because of a few countries making them gambling. Then we have the very piss poor selling numbers of the games. Activision/blizzard is also getting wrecked as well with the whole.. "don't you guys have phones" diablo immortal mobile game, which is a knockoff chinese game of a chinese diablo knockoff. Its like they don't think the internet exists and they can hide all the stupid crap they are doing. The federal trade commission is investigating whether lootcrates should be considered gambling. China is also cracking down on the games industry exploiting consumers. The whole gaming industry as of right now seems to be crashing. dont get me started on bethesda.
I for one welcome the game industry crashing. Hopefully it will kill off these bloated game "producers" like EA and Activision. Also it will force game developers to return to honesty and pleasing their consumers by making games worth buying. #returntohonestgaming Bathesda
The thing about ATLAS is that it actually looks fun. They could have easily just released it as a pirate themed expansion to ARK.
Apparently the thought is is that it WAS designed as an ark expansion, then the devs figured they could make more money trying to pawn it off as a new game.
What happened to EA, as explained by Steve Jobs. Pretty much this. I also find it kind of sad that after he died this is exactly what happened to Apple.
Let me preface this post by saying I hope that the upcoming Anthem game manages to dodge all the drama that has been plaguing EA's other projects. That being said, I feel these two videos are important to add to EA's wall of shame: Both videos make some good arguments about the same main point; that EA has completely squandered the Star Wars license.
EA launches Titanfall 2 in the same month as their bigger game Battlefield 1: https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-defends-awkward-battlefield-1-and-titanfall-2-scheduling/ Titanfall devs a bit bewildered by EA response: https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-is-committed-to-titanfall-2-but-respawn-doesnt-know-what-that-means/ EA rep says they are "heavily invested in the Titanfall universe". https://www.pcgamer.com/respawn-bos...n-the-titanfall-universe-whatever-that-means/ Titanfall 3 aborted in favor of giving EA their own special version of the Battle Royale genre:
EA needs to die so the rest learn that the dev floor is where a gaming company lives and the boardroom is where they die.
