It's hard for me to understand what is going on in the heads of EA execs right now besides maybe its like they got publicly punched in their dicks for previous shitty practices and now are trying to save face.
I mean, they've been labeled as one of the most hated companies in America (ranking 5 out of the top 20 above Comcast, Facebook, The Trump Organization, Uber, United Airlines and others) as recently as 2018. They even currently have a wiki page dedicated to criticism against them. Not about the company, just about the things people hate them for. In the past they've made mouth noises about changing things, but you make enough mouth noises long enough and people just aren't going to believe you until you actually follow through.
After EA's Go Woke Go Broke campaign with Battlefield V, it seems they learned their lesson about who buys their games. Also, why can't I embed this clip?
I'm still not going to buy it when it comes out, because I have enough games I won't need a new game for a super, super long time. On top of that, this is still EA. Their marketing might have pulled their head out of their asses, but I doubt their monetization department has. But seeing the meme rocket air-to-air kill made real in a trailer brought a tear to my eye.
Good to see developers actually watching and learning about how people abuse their game. Like blizzard forever canonizing the hero drone. XD
