Considering I finally have a computer that can run the game and I can play it with OR, it's hard to resist. And then you had to throw in RP AND having a dedicated unit... SHIT! Why'd it take so long? Or, who cares! I'm glad it's going to happen now.

All I need to do is think of a char and try to gather some c-bills for new mechs. I only own one stalker and two catapults or thereabouts. Maybe some odd random mech but all of them aren't even properly equipped.

I need to hurry up and finish my next training module. That will make 5 and I'll feel comfortable rolling them out. They'll be broken down into sections, as the whole thing almost reads like a book. I'll be looking at inserting media to go along with the written portions too. The entire module system is meant to be an entertaining way of guiding new players to adjusting to CW, with a breakdown of common enemy builds and load-outs to the best IS builds, followed by secondary and tertiary builds using alternate, and sometimes unconventional load-outs for specific combat at medium range to CQB. Since not all players can dedicate equal play time, they'll at least have a resource to check out if they can at least get to a browser, for example: being bored at work and you have some free time.

With the training modules being like articles, and some media thrown in for visual reference, it'll be an overall well rounded guide for pilots of varying skill levels.

Since the clans got us beat on range, why bother trying to poke? I'm going to write a weapon system theory module that can be applied to any mech, but some will naturally be able to apply sections of the weapon system theory module with better benefit. Right now Stalkers are one of the absolute best front line mechs. Large lasers you can fire in 3s before heat penalty. Stalker 4N is considered one of the hottest commodities with it's LL quirks. Even after the last nerf attempt, the 4N is still just as dangerous.

Dropping 8 of them with 4 Atlas DDCs is a pretty nasty tactic. On the FRR Hub, using mixed unit 12 man groups led by an excellent drop commander, we'd use this initial assault wave to punch the shit out of a clan line. If you keep the Stalkers tight, use them as a shield to get your DDCs into brawling range, you can eat the first two waves of a clan skittle team and likely smack the shit out of most medium skilled clan organized unit. They just simply cannot deal with the weight and volume of firepower we can spew out at medium range, and keeping the assaults at 62+ ensures the only way a clan team can keep distance is to run the opposite way.

The DDCs keep missiles off the Stalkers and the Stalkers provide a virtual Skjaldborg with massive forward facing firepower. Once the brawl begins, the DDCs punch through the Stalker line and the real fun begins. When you catch semi-pro teams, they're accustomed to sticking together. The tighter they are with this tactic, the less distance you have to travel to tie them up before they realize what's really going on. It's fun to watch!

Same formula can be used with a combination of Stalkers, Battlemasters, and Atlas'. The brave can bring brawler equipped Awesomes or Victors. Standard engines recommended. Lighter assaults can safely travel 10kph or so faster than the others, to act as fast flanking support to keep the Stalker flanks covered. As long as they can lose a side torso and keep fighting, they'll fair nicely.

    Wrong thread?

Though even from launch, a 4 LL Stalker has been one of my favorite builds, it annihilates stuff.

XCOM thread is all about power rangers and their colors, this thread is now all about MWO and how cool those Stalkers are.

That was a pretty wicked hijack, eh? On that note, could you imagine what it would be like to stroll across the waste land like this?

I wonder what the modding options for F4 will be like. It would be nice to add an empty mech somewhere in the desert :D

I made a mech in FNV actually! It was wonky as hell but it worked :D If the FO4 Geck is anything like the FNV version I'm totally gonna remake that old thing... :glee:

There is room for a smartphone inside and they built an app to work like the pipboy in game. Not sure yet how it will interact but DAAAAAAYUUMM.

I'll just build my own. Or find a metalworker and say "This but more madmax and less Original gameboy. Also Leather straps. Yeah, leather would be pretty whizzard."
