that said though, since what I was referencing was simply an adjustment to what you posted (which would take precedence) I should probably focus more on the parent spell than the player created variant. And yes, the reason awakening doesn't significantly change the charisma and wisdom of animals is because they usually have reasonable scores in those values appropriate to the creature. (they get the 1d3 charisma because animals charisma is typically lower than an intelligent creature would be) oozes are much closer to plants, than animals in that regard (although being a rolled character instead of a npc/creature it would all be done slightly different, the spells are simply to give a reference point as to what +/- stats should be given) basically awakening a mindless creature would give them a mind, and thereby give them (reasonable) stats for wisdom and charisma as well, otherwise you might have the smartest ooze on earth that would find it perfectly reasonable to climb into a volcano without a second thought (a 1 wisdom'll do that)
well, technically they aren't animating mead, they're -awakening- an ooze, that is designed to look like mead/ale, because it's original purpose was to mix with drinks and, through ingestion, make the targets more susceptible to mind affecting spells, or if that fails, kill them outright. (Or both, while at the same time not looking like any kind of normal poison) and a good reason someone might awaken such a thing is simple, it's an experiment to see if it could be done, why try such a dangerous spell on a truly dangerous monster when something reasonably innocuous like a small weak ooze could serve the same purpose without much risk if the test is a failure. Afterwards, the experimenter now has a sentient ooze of very little value to him, most likely just puts it on a shelf and forgets about it... *smash* runaway sentient ooze! I kinda changed thought processes mid post, but I think you get the gist XD
also, on the matter of being so small, I have a plan! (and as an ooze it would hardly be restricted to a container, I just thought the image was amusing)
Alright, Damion and I worked out the details on his puddle of doom. I will have a character floating around as well. That gives us 3 so far (plus me). Aiming for May 30th for the first game. Sound good?
I will probably need some help setting up my feathery thing as I'm still not 100% on par with the pathfinder rules. Also if we start at 9 EST I probably won't be able to attend the entire session. Time differences and all.
Hmmm, so starting at level one, I don't believe I have any method of keeping myself alive in air... Am I in a fishbowl? Anyone available to guide with character creation and acceptance of my race?
I dunno. Stuff.. I guess since it is level one it's pretty simple. But it has been a while since a 3.5 character and never a Pathfinder. Need someone to validate my rolls too. I rolled stats in roll20 but had no one to confirm that yes, I rolled 2 17s, 3 14s. And a... 9? I wrote it down. Out of town (Seattle) at the moment, don't have access to my "books". Anything specific I should look at for Pathfinder wizard options?
Weell... wizards get bonus abilities based on their magic school. So there's that. And we're on the honor system for rolls, except during actual play.
Almost forgot. Let me do you an amazing favor and give you this link http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/
