Went with Oceanic since it gives generally the widest selection of buffs to colder climates. Also works with the ship-fairing theme I'm going with. But yeah... SPACE VIKINGS! Not sure how to add fluff text to the faction description box, though (the blank space in the middle).
There was a joke going through the developer community that ign, pcgamer, and eurogamer didnt give a score above 7/10 unless your publisher paid them to do articles before the game release. I thouht it was strange til mount and blade ii released and got like 6 on pc gamer
Welp, after about 4 hours into my first game I can say I definitely will be playing this for a while. Feels like Distant Worlds and Sins of a Solar Empire had a beautiful child. And Paradox is gonna keep adding stuff and features to it. No regrets for pre-ordering here.
I do find it strange that they have given mount & blade 2 a score as that game is yet to be released Now if you mean mount & blade: warband, which is a standalone expansion it makes more sense. Just playing with you Well I'm not that surprised about it receiving a 6 or whatever it was. I love the game but it's got issues Back to Stellaris, i played it for a little bit. Can definetly see bits of ck2 in there. So I imagine that I will enjoy it.
I honestly wouldn't have given mount and blade hider than a 7. 6 sounds reasonable to me for that one. It has some nice ideas and can be fun to kill time with, but it also has one the worst user interfaces I've ever seen and is ugly as fuck.
That too, I can agree. Character system, planetary improvements, frontier outposts etc. Though I'll admit that I've played MOO2 surprisingly little compared to newer 4X's.
I may restart, not that I'm not doing ok, but i'm in a wierd spot and all spread out. Also be careful about the conditions you set at the onset of war. You could pretty much wipe them out, but when they agree to a truce, you only get what you initially wanted, NOTHING MORE.
After some patches have dealt with the most pressing and critical bugs and issues, we should definitely try to have a relaxed MP game we can hop in and out when needs must. Just for some good times.
Few things (tips): You can survey the entire system with one command with right clicking the star, very easy. Same with building mines, if you have enough resources to build all the mines or research centers, you can right click the star and build them all. You can QUEUE COMMANDS with shift. Holy shit I didn't figure this out for a while. There's a button at the bottom (also alt) that lets you see the resources on all the planets from galaxy view, it helps. Influence is a bitch to maintain. frontier outposts, alliances and a bunch of stuff drain it. You can get more by upgrading colony admin buildings or declaring a rival. When you hit your population cap of 5 planets, make some into a sector. They become semi-autonomous and don't count toward you cap. Also frontier bases in a sector also don't drain influence. You can build wormhole generators and military outposts outside your borders. Early game minerals are key. Later energy becomes an issue. When you get to mid game, it may be better to delete your 1-2 mineral mining outposts because they drain 1 energy each.
