    - fixed overflowing menu for various blocks (turrets, rotors)

    Now might be a good time for us to start looking at mods. I'm not interested in anything that is unbalanced, but there are some great mods out there that really help to flesh out the interior of ships. Those would be great. That Titan engine looks damn sexy too... way better than slapping on a bajillion large thrusters.

    Mods: time for someone to start the conversation on this.

    I created a collection on Steamworks that everyone can see. I think this will be the easiest solution for ensuring everyone keeps up to date with the same content.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT NONE OF THESE MODS ARE YET ADDED TO THE SERVER. DO NOT INSTALL THEM YET.

    Anyway, take a look at the list and let me know what you think. I picked mostly cosmetic items that improved immersion. I was careful not to pick any items that would break vanilla gameplay. The main goal here is to only augment the vanilla experience, not completely undo it.

    there are guns to shoot people with now (if that is what you are asking). i think the NPC ships are working correctly too. the only thing i'm unsure of is if they shoot back like they are suppose to. server lag was non-existant for me last time I played, but results seem to vary based on where you live (netcode is still getting improved).

    the amount of combat is pretty low level at this point. there is the potential for PvP, but we haven't organized anything yet as we've been waiting for more features to get added (which they have).

    the other issue is that the server ends up being out of date often because of the constant updates the devs are making. the updates are great, but it does get annoying that we have so much trouble getting on the server. I'm going to talk to Varg to see what more I can do to help keep the server up and running.

    I don't mind the "mine and build" style. But even games like terraria and so forth have something to keep you going foward. There are optional boss fights, exploration, things to find and do, etc. It's all optional, but it's there if you want it. I was just wondering if this would ever have something similar.

    well... no "storyline" with boss fights really. assuming the NPC ships work correctly now, though. You can do hostile boarding actions against them. That is pretty fun in a high risk / high reward kind of way.

    the other thing we wanted to do was get a limited PvP thing going where there are two bases (independent of players' personal property) that could be fought over between a "lawful" and "pirate" faction... or whatever we feel like cooking up. we could do up to 8 vs. 8 on the server. could be very fun if we can get the numbers.

    i did look at the laser, titan engine, and armor thrusters as well and those 3 sounds good to me. decoration stuff i am fine with whatever. (which i guess the armor thrusters is technically decoration/cosmetic anyways)

    Glad you guys like them. There were some others that looked kind of cool, but they were either a bitch to install or they just added WAAY too much stuff to the point that it was overkill.

    Isn't that the irony of working in the video game industry? You spend all day creating games and never get to *play* them.

    I find SE very relaxing. Particularly after a 12hr shift.

    UPDATE: added a few more mods that we didn't have before.

    we now have proper furniture for creating a kitchen/messhall. also added a few more options in terms of interior wall decor. should make the interior of your designs look like someone actually lives there now. we now have some proper wings we can stick on small ships. there are now even smaller small ship thrusters you can use; they don't offer any performance increase and they are more expensive to build. finally, solar panels can now be centered on large blocks instead of offset (looks much better); you can now run solar panels down the back of your ships without it looking weird.

    the only mod I'm a bit hesitant to include is the laser turret. Gatling turrets are still really accurate and i'm not sure if having laser turrets with 100% accuracy will be good for fighters. we will have to see. if they are OP, I will pull them.

    there is one other that looks kind of interesting but I haven't included it yet because it might be overpowered (untested) :

    The description of the laser makes it sound like itd be useless against (in small numbers) against large ships but yeah how effective is it against small ship blocks if it is mostly meant for debris.

    And I like that modlist

    Something else we could do if the lasers prove to be too good against fighters (assuming we start PvP stuff). We could ask that everyone limit their use to ships and stations that are not being used in PvP... and just to make things more interesting in survival...turn ON meteor showers again. :)

    That said, the laser turrets do not seem to be working as intended just yet (they still require ammo). I think I will pull them from the list until they get updated.

    yes... much better for making self -contained lunar rovers in my opinion. :)

    EDIT: btw, I tried to make sure all mods were fully survival compatible (resource reqs., build progression, etc.). if you find any that aren't, please let me know.
