the current ones let you go between the ch47 and an underslung boat, but yeah I'd love this. Also would love the ability to do pinnacle landings with the ch-47 but it would really help on both to have Konyo's SOAR MH-47E mod where you have a loadmaster position at the rear ramps so a teammate can tell you your positioning since you are having to blindly land the rear of the chopper 30 some feet behind you.
Tried Nodunit and Franze's AH-64D Apache Longbow with a friend tonight, it is by far the best helicopter mod out there. Previously Konyo's MH-47E was the best helicopter mod but it has been blown out of the water. This Apache mod is not for people who like to hop in a chopper and go, the existing arma2 us helicopter pack we run is for that. This is for those that want every system on the helicopter to work correctly when they push each button and switch in the cockpit. Yes you just read correctly, its a fully functioning cockpit with modeled avionics and systems. This is the sort of thing you would pay $40 for in flight simulator or DCS. The link to the BI forum post is here Currently it is not on armaholic for Arma 3 yet, the download links are in the BI thread or you can download it through play with six. If you use the BI forum links be aware that you have to add the additional part in since it is an arma2 mod that has been made to also work with arma 3. There is a 1mb file to get the controls to work in arma 3. So what makes it amazing? it took me honestly about 10 min to start the helicopter the first time. I've since learned to do it in under a min, but when you have to manually flip the switches in the cockpit and move the engine condition levers it just takes time to do. First you need to assign custom control 20 to something as that is how you interface with the buttons and switches in the cockpit (I use left windows button) For those that get it and want to try it out I'll give a quick guide to turning it on. (all these switches are located low left beside the pilots left hand) master switch on (round one on the left, you will see boh mfd's and the central display turn on when this is on) APU start (square button below the master, slight illumination or color change when on) left and right engine starter switches to start (just below the APU switch) left and right condition levers to flight (to the right of those switches, click by the flight marking for both of them) rotor brake off (switch located just to the left of the condition levers when in flight position) then finally you can mouse wheel to engine start to finish the procedure It took us another 5 min of flying around trying to get the hud to work (IHADSS toggle), we still didn't have all the mfd's configured. This thing is by far the closest to flying a real helicopter in arma yet, even the flight model is more twitchy and feels like an actual helicopter compared to the normal easy to fly ones. I wouldn't say that is it as tough as a take on helicopter's model but its better than arma. I really can't say enough good things about this. It really takes two players working together in order to make it truly preform. Even then both will have many hours of time training in it and practicing to really make full use of the aircraft's systems. I would be in love if this same level of realism and detail was applied to all the helicopters in the game. secret ability, it can carry 4 people just like the real chopper you can sit on the side sponsons and hold onto the aircraft hand holds in order to rescue two ground troops in an emergency.
hum, not sure on that one. I used Six to download and install it so the two separate downloads were all handled for me.
20 freaking megs for black pajamas? Let me take a look at it. If I can just include the .pbo's into another mod I'll see what can be done.
Took a look at this and a look around for similar uniforms. Can't easily load it into another mod and compile and didn't find anything comparable. So. I'll add this to the next mod pack update. Also considering Massi's SF weapons and looking at yet another medic system. AGM's is turning out to be a pain in the ass.
I also didn't see any other SWAT-style blackout uniforms when I looked around last night. No rush obviously. Just new uni's. What's going on with the AGM med system besides no revive?
That's exactly what's going on. XMed breaks maps. AGM turns us into delicate little flowers and doesn't have a revive. Or isn't working right and there's no way to tell because there's no goddamn documentation. Blerg.
Last night Vary, Solo, I were doing a mission on SRS BSNS and I fell off a five foot drop and it straight up killed me, no revive, nothing. I don't mind being a bit delicate but that seemed... excessive.
I'll agree with that. Revive makes for a much more fun experience and another reason to want to have a medic around.
Looking through Massi's SF weapons and I like what I see! Hopefully they'll work better than the Hellenic mod versions. Particularly looking forward to the FAL, M240, MK48 and Saiga 12.
I was looking at other organizations' modlists to get an idea of what ours should be and whether or not we're overloading. Below, is ours: Spoiler @CBA_A3 @tmr @ASDG_Attachments @ASDG_JR @U100 @Unlocked_Uniforms @ALiVE @RAV_Lifter_A3 @inidb @mcc_sandbox_a3 @realarmor @AGM @HAFM_Helis @prpl_BenelliM4 Here is Taranis, another PMC mil-sim unit. And here is CIA. Both use some HUGE files. Stuff I'd like for us to use, sure, but just don't want to force down people's throats. Also, the lists are similar in size and scope. They have redundancies, we have redundancies. Finding these lists was a bit of a relief because I seriously thought I was overloading us.
I downloaded Massi's weapons and tried them out tonight. Very cool stuff but one big problem - like the HAFM, there are multiple redundant versions of each weapon and they use their own special ammo magazines. That being said, I want a Saiga 12. Somehow, some way.
Added Massi's SF NATO/Russian weapons pack. You will need to DL that and install it manually. Will be updating the modpack as soon as I get some things taken care of on a new map version. Going to add the VAS cleanup script and a new VAS interface (shows long names and is a lot cleaner). Still trying to figure out a good setup for medical stuff. I'm starting to think AGM is too good to give up. Alternately, I can try to get TPWMods working and throw in XMed. Maybe. I'll have multiple versions of the server up soon so y'all can figure out what you want.
